I'm in the wine industry, and have wanted a small fridge to keep some quality wines close at hand. I ordered one of these units thinking it seemed kind of cool to have the features of chilling and preserving in one unit - boy was I wrong. The original (first one I had) unit just stopped working after about 7 months. One day, I went to grab a bottle and the motor had stopped, the unit was not chilling, the blue light was blinking and my expensive wine was in danger.
I contacted the customer service department after locating the warranty info (this came with a one year warranty), who gave me a really, really hard time before agreeing to replace the unit. They denied I had ever sent the warranty card in, told me my unit was not eligible for replacement, blah blah. They finally agreed to send me a new one after several emails and phone calls, but they seemed convinced I was trying to cheat them out of one of these spectacularly crappy things, so would only send it if I emailed a picture of myself cutting the power cord - which I did.
The new unit worked for about six months before the exact same thing happened, and the unit again displayed the blinking blue light of death, and no longer chilled. When I contacted the Preservino customer service again - they replied by telling me the unit now had a 90 day warranty (I guess too many were breaking after 6 months), and that electrical spikes can cause the unit to stop working (a handy little fact that, if true, would be better told to customers BEFORE a unit breaks). I have no idea if both of these units got a zap of electricity, but I have laptops in use at the home, as well as lots of other appliances, and no zaps have effected any of those. I think it was just an excuse to not replace my second defective unit. I would have loved to have a refund at that point - but no deal. They blamed the problem on me, and stopped communicating.
So, this is not only the worst product I've ever purchased, and the biggest waste of money, but dealing with the Preservino "Customer Care", as they call themselves, has also been my worst customer service experience ever. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of this shoddy equipment and save yourself the headache of dealing with a company that looks at their customers as dispensable, lying bags of cash. I'd give zero stars if I could.
